Dehydration
Dehydration is always a concern for children and the elderly (specifically infants). Extra liquids should be given during any illness. Be sure to offer fluids to children frequently. Example are: herbal teas, water and electrolyte replacement drinks.
NOsodas or sugary juices.
Possible Signs of Dehydration
1. First signs are often dry eyes, mouth and mucous membrane.
2. Skin texture is not normal. (Pinch test)
3. Eyes seem sunken in.
4. Soft spot in infants is sunken in. This is a very bad sign.
5. Urination is considerably less than normal.
