Property and Liability
Every business is unique, so why should business insurance be one-size-fits-all? You may start out looking for the basics to get all-around coverage, but eventually you’ll need specific answers about the insurance options available for your particular business. I can help you create an insurance plan that suits your specific needs. I’ll discuss business insurance with you, then answer your questions, so you can make an informed decision.
Understand the Basics
The basic building blocks of business insurance cover both your property and general liability needs.
- Business Property Coverage helps protect your building and contents in case of direct physical loss, such as fire, theft, or damage due to wind, lightning or other weather conditions. Business Property Coverage also extends to cover any exterior signs, company landscaping or radio and satellite antennas you may use in the course of your business.
- General Liability Coverage helps protect your business against injuries to others and damage to the property of others residing on your business property (or as a result of your operations). General Liability Coverage includes a wide array of coverage options like Medical Payments Coverage, Physical Damage Coverage and Personal and Advertising Injury Coverage, which provides protection for such offenses as false arrest, libel, slander and wrongful entry that violate privacy or infringement of copyrights, title or slogan.
Choose Your Policy Type
Thinking about the basics of business insurance may help in identifying your unique needs. Once you’ve determined the level of protection that fits your business, Burnette Insurance Services offers you a choice between the Customizer® and a Business Package Policy.
- The Customizer® Policy can help provide some of the flexibility you need if you’re a small business owner. With the Customizer® Policy you can pick and choose from coverage options and custom design a policy around your business. The best part is that you pay only for the coverages you need, so you have greater control over your insurance costs.
In addition to protecting your business property, the Customizer® Policy also helps protect you from legal liability to others for accidental events, personal injury, advertising injury and medical payments. And optional coverages are available to protect the things that are unique to your business—whether that’s business property, like computer equipment, or a liability that you’re at risk for because of your line of work.
- The Business Package Policy may be more appropriate if you have a larger business. This program includes business property protection that covers your building and contents from loss, including valuable papers, landscaping, garage buildings and more. In addition, you'll benefit from the protection of General Liability Coverage. All around, a Business Package Policy covers you for the most common business insurance needs.
Add Optional Coverages
You can also help tailor your business insurance by choosing from many optional coverages. These include, among others:
- Computer Equipment
- Loss of Income
- Employee Fraud or Dishonesty
- Water Damage
- Professional Liability for Druggists, Opticians and Funeral Directors
Inland Marine Coverage
In addition to the coverages above, you can increase your level of protection with Inland Marine Coverage. This coverage helps secure your business against the risks you’re exposed to because of your specific line of work. Burnette Insurance Services offers:
- Builders Risk Coverage
- Cargo Coverage
- Contractors Equipment
- Electronic Data Processing Coverage
- Installation Floater Coverage
- Shippers Transportation Coverage
- Spoilage Coverage
