When we arrived on the scene of this Target we immediately realized both main water supply lines leading to the Fire Protection System had burst and washed away the foundation. We worked hand in hand with almost a dozen local utilities and state agencies to ensure a safe project. The NFP team worked around the clock to ensure the fastest repair possible.
One of the predicaments of this situation was that due to the loss of the main fire protection system Target needed to maintain a 24/7 fire watch. To avoid using valuable Fire Department resources and costly charges NFP devised a solution utilizing a nearby hydrant to feed the indoor sprinkler system. Because the hydrant was utilized, this temporary solution allowed the stores automatic fire detection system to remain active, saving the store from tremendous expenses.
